On our recent trip to Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, we had a fantastic lobster feast. As an appetizer we got a huge plate of “Pulpo al Ajo” or Garlic Octopus. Check out my little slide-show below, including many closeup shots of tentacles, and suckers. Now I realize that many people aren’t fans of octopus, but it’s one of my favorite foods. If you don’t like it because of the texture (it can be tough), this was tender and delicious. I learned to love octopus aka “pulpo” in Spain, where it’s prized as a delicacy.

I love seafood. I really do. But those pictures almost make my stomach turn lol. I am sitting here staring at it thinking ‘how can you bite into that after seeing all those suckers on there?’

I’m jealous of you all! I can’t really fully enjoy seafood except for fish due to allergies:( I’m trying to desensitize myself by eating little by little this kind of food. I hope in the end I’ll be able to eat it without the discomfort of having itchiness afterwards.
