You know that you really, really like garlic (or red wine, or lamb), but how do your preferences compare to your friends'? Does your cousin Betsy share your opinion of cilantro? How about your next-door neighbor?
The Taste Profile is a new addition to users' Foodista profiles and a way to answer these questions. It asks you to rate your opinions of 20 foods and beverages. Then, you can invite your friends and family to fill out their taste profiles and compare results.
Here's how it plays out among Foodista staff. Sheri isn't a big fan of cheesecake but loves tofu. A spinach salad with blue cheese would make Melissa very happy, but hold the chicken breast. If you are serving Barnaby a hamburger, leave off the mayo, iceberg lettuce and American cheese. If you are serving Colin a hamburger, you'd really better leave off the mayo.
As you can see from the above image, Barnaby and I don't have much in common, foodwise, but we could always grab a beer.
What does your Taste Profile look like?
