NBC finished up the first season of its food reality program, "America's Next Great Restaurant," with the crowning of a champion and the realization of a true American success story. A panel of judges including Curtis Stone (above), Bobby Flay, Lorena Garcia and Steve Ells picked the winner.
Jamawn Woods and his concept, Soul Daddy, won the competition over Sudhir Kandula's Spice Coast and Joey Galluzzi's Brooklyn Meatball Company. His first three restaurants open today in Los Angeles (6801 Hollywood Boulevard), Minneapolis (third floor of the Mall of America) and New York (189 Front Street).
Soul Daddy is a healthy soul food concept with the slogan of "New Home Cooking." Congrats Jamawn!
