While you're out celebrating Cinco de Mayo, raise an early Happy Birthday glass to the frozen margarita machine. The original is housed in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC and will turn 40 years old next week. The margarita is the most popular cocktail in America according to spirit supplier Brown-Foreman, with over 185,000 consumed per hour in 2008, and the machine made the Smithsonian blog's list of the Top 10 American Inventions.
