The Battle to Save Raw Milk is ON!

Grass-Fed on the Hill together with raw milk buying clubs across the US are holding a rally on May 16, 2011 in washington DC. For the past year and a half the FDA has been conducting undercover sting operations and raiding dairy farms and private buying clubs. Speakers will include Sally Fallon, president of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Dave Gumpert author, activist, and food blogger, and Mark Acafee, founder of Organic Pastures Dairy.

Humans have been drinking raw animal milk for thousands of years and it is actually as American as apple pie . Perhaps you remember the milk man of the 50's, delivering fresh milk from the farm to every door step. This all changed when various states began to pass laws to make it illegal. Many in the health field still believe that raw milk is more nutritious and less allergy inducing than pasteurized dairy which has been zapped off all of it's beneficial bacteria and enzymes.

This historically nourishing food is now considered contraband by the FDA and farmers are being treated like criminals, which seems excessive regardless what side of the debate that you are on.
