The controversial liquor absinthe is getting a second chance in France. After being banned in 1915 for its damaging effects, absinthe is expected to be reinstated any day now since the French Senate voted in April to remove the ban. The regulation had previously been relaxed to allow the sale of the drink under a different name, and the European Union legalized absinthe in 1988.
