A recent study of the nationally recognized diets has come to the conclusion that Jenny Craig comes out as the favorite. It is really no surprize, since JC is a prepackaged, premeasured , no brainer diet plan. You eat what comes in the box.
It is interesting to note that another diet, Weight Watchers, requires members to actually handle real food, from the store to the plate. No matter what types of food are chosen, there is a point value to them. Then the choice is yours, eat less of the higher point items or more of the lower point (healthier) items.
Full disclosure, I have been on WW since January of 2011. At the same time, I also adhere to a whole food diet, meaning real butter, eggs, meat, fat, coconut oil, olive oil and fresh fruits and vegetables. I make most of our food from scratch, and am not willing to stray from this lifestyle. My takeaway from the WW diet is the *amount* of food was my learning curve. No matter what type of food, I always ate too much of it.
WW can be used to relearn portion control, and still allow for eating actual food. Once you stop paying for WW, you still have the new food skills. Once you stop JC, all you have are empty boxes.
