University of Maryland students will have a new hotspot this fall when Bobby's Burger Palace opens at the ground floor of The Varsity in College Park, a luxurious housing complex for students. The Bobby Flay-owned burger joint will show off 10 of the celebrity chef's signature burgers.
If the menus from Flay's other locations are any indication, these signature burgers are inspired by major U.S. cities. Take the L.A. burger, for example, which is filled with watercress, cheddar, tomato and an avocado relish. Or the Miami burger, which is a pressed sandwich with ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard and mayonnaise -- a riff on a Cuban medianoche.
With another recently opened Bobby's Burger palace location on the University of Pennsylvania campus, it's clear that Flay is now turning his attention from malls to college campuses to spread the word about his char-grilled fare.
