In the summer I love snacking on homemade dips. Sometimes I will even make a lunch out of it.  A few crackers, some veggie sticks and some goat cheese and sun dried tomato spread and I'm a happy camper.  I am obsessed with dips.  I am the girl at the party that doesn't leave the food table because she is too addicted to the chips and salsa- literally.  Here are 5 essential dips from staples like guacamole to the more exotic muhammara.  Dips are obviously great party food, make sure your guests have a variety of dippers to choose from.  I like crostini, pita chips, veggie sticks, and even slices of apple.

Guacamole

A crowd pleaser, best served with tortilla chips.

Baba Ghanoush

A Middle Eastern dip of roasted eggplant, garlic, and tahini (sesame paste).

Grilled Zucchini and White Bean Dip

With the help of a food processor, this dip can be made in minutes!

Goat Cheese and Sun Dried Tomato Spread

This dip pairs well with olive tapenade.

Muhammara

A spicy spread made with roasted red peppers, walnuts and pomegranate molasses.
