Rooftop Gardens Go Greenhouse

May 22, 2011

Due to consumer demand for organic produce, entrepreneurs are getting in on the growing rooftop gardening trend. Lufa Gardens has taken the concept to the next level by turning an office rooftop into a 31,000-square-foot greenhouse that grows a variety of seasonal produce. Lufa is selling their local bounty directly to consumers via a co-op. Other farms are forming partnerships with supermarkets by building greenhouses on the roof tops. It doesn't get much fresher than that.
