A Dutch winemaker in Bordeaux, Ilja Gort, is going to serenade his grapes during the summer pre-harvest picking of excess grapes, vendanges vertes. Gort, of Château la Tulipe de la Garde, believes that the singing will help his grapes to grow and to be happy: "If we sing while picking, the grapes won't notice that their branches are being pruned. In this way we minimize stress for the plant and as a result the wine will taste smoother and deliciously sweet." Auditions to participate in the sing-along will be held on Youtube.
