Hunch recently created an infographic called Food Profiles of Liberals vs. Conservatives that sheds light on how people eat from both sides of the political aisle. The survey used responses from 347,949 Hunch users, who described themselves as either liberal, conservative or "middle of the road." Hunch then mixed those responses with the 80 million responses in its "Teach Hunch About You" question pool to determine food preferences of self-identified liberals and conservatives.
We covered the previous iteration of this Hunch survey back in 2009 when there were just 64,000 responses. What's new for the 2011 survey is a handy infographic from Column Five Media that illustrates each ideological group's statistics and lists the "middle ground" items that both liberals and conservatives enjoy.
Based on the Food Profiles of Liberals vs. Conservatives infographic, here are a few things that people of any political preference can agree to enjoy:
- Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with strawberry jelly
- Grilled burgers when cooking at home
- Bacon cheeseburgers
- Soft taco shells as opposed to hard shells
- Cold breakfast cereal
- Fresh vegetables instead of cooked vegetables
