FDA Raid of the Day: Probiotics!

June 8, 2011

The situation with the FDA is getting out of control. Raw milk, elderberry, and now probiotics are becoming contraband worthy of raids. This round of seizing was via the company UAS Labs. The US marshals under FDA orders seized a variety of beneficial bacteria products from the company. As with the elderberry juice, the FDA seized the products because they were making claims that probiotics can cure colds and flus along with several other types of infections. And just as with the the elderberry, there is plenty of research to support the claims. The human body has over a trillion bacteria, more than cells. Due to antibiotic use and improper diet, many people lack the right amount of bacteria to support proper immune and digestive health.

Thanks to the Food Safety Modernization Act, the FDA now has close to unlimited powers. Based on the fact that many harmful ingredients are allowed in the food supply, but proven substances that are from nature are considered dangerous, something is seriously wrong. If you are outraged, it's time to contact your Congress people and tell them that you are not going to sit back and take this.
