Paul and Mira Sorvino are after your best diabetes-friendly recipes. The father-and-daughter duo recently announced the Diabetes Co-Stars Cookoff, a recipe contest specifically for diabetic diners. Participants can enter at the Diabetes Co-Stars website. The Sorvinos are looking specifically for easy-to-prepare recipes that are "interesting, unusual or exciting" and, of course, safe for diabetics.
The diabetes-friendly recipe contest runs until 11:59 p.m. on July 20. Paul and Mira Sorvino will choose two finalists from the pool of entries and invite them to a formal cook-off with the Sorvinos at the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival.
Paul and Mira Sorvino are paid spokespersons for Diabetes Co-Stars; the awareness campaign is sponsored by Sanofi-Aventis. Sorvino has had Type 2 diabetes since 2006.
