So, Shake Shack has become a New York landmark. Calling itself a modern "roadside burger stand" that specializes in delicious burgers. The chain has expanded to several locations around the city and recently opened a branch in Washington DC. Needless to say, the lines are often long to get a burger (especially during the lunch rush hour). People have wasted hours getting their burger and have developed schemes like sending junior employees down to wait in lines for them.
Well, the website Dealbreaker reported that didn't apply to some people. Specifically people who work for Goldman Sachs. An article reported that employees there have "a private grill" at a local Shake Shack that lets them skip those long lines. People responded with fury, angry that the people of Goldman Sachs appeared to have gamed the system once again.
Except, the article appears to not be true. Gothamist spoke to the operators of Shake Shack, who denied the rumor. A Goldman spokesman later denied the rumor to Daily Intel as well. In short, there may be lots of reasons to hate Goldman Sachs, but don't believe they have a private grill.
