Normally, we think of spiced nuts as a holiday treat but I enjoy them any time of the year. This Father's Day my own Dad has asked me to make them for him. You can use whatever nuts you or your Dad likes. My personal favorites are pecans, cashews, and peanuts. If you have multiple people to give gifts to, make a big batch of these spiced nuts and you're set. Place them in cellophane bags with ribbon and you have a simple and delicious gift ready for Dad, Grandpa, or Uncle.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons water
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon cayenne
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups mixed nuts such as walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts and almonds
