On July 6, the Black Eyed Peas will be performing at the Alton Towers in the U.K.; to commemorate the event, the resort commissioned local artist Lee Merricks -- who's now also known as "Peacasso" -- to create this portrait of singer Will.i.am out of black-eyed peas.
It took the university student 24 working hours spread over four days to create the portrait, which contains just over 11 pounds of black-eyed peas and spans 85 centimeters by 60 centimeters (roughly 33.5 inches by 23.5 inches). In a press release announcing the unusual art piece, a spokesperson for Alton Towers said, "We wanted to celebrate the fact that the resort was hosting one of the few Black Eyed Peas U.K. dates and thought this was a good way to do that."
