A New York ice cream chain is suing a local television station that aired an unfavorable story about the business. D'Lites Emporium claims to sell ice cream that is low in sugar, fat, sodium and carbohydrates, but consumer investigative reporter Arnold Diaz cast doubts on those claims during a segment called "Shame, Shame, Shame." That segment allegedly exposes businesses that engage in deceptive marketing.
In his story, Diaz alleges that the ice cream was far less healthy than advertised. D'Lites claims those allegations are false, but that business as down as a result of the show. Matthew Prince, who owns the stores in question, says Diaz tested a concentrated ice cream mix that does not resemble the product served to customers. Because of the report, Prince has had to delay expansion plans.
Who do you think is right in this case?
