Pepsi-Funded Choice Bus Encourages Kids to Stay in School

June 22, 2011

The Pepsi-funded Choice Bus is the latest awareness initiative to come out of the Pepsi Refresh Project. The Choice Bus is run by The Mattie C. Stewart Foundation; the "mobile experience" essentially juxtaposes jail and a classroom to encourage kids to stay in school.

"Education is the key to a successful life," said Dr. Shelley Stewart, the president of The Mattie C. Stewart Foundation. "We need to show our chilren that each one of them has the potential to pursue a career and make a good living."

The Buffalo Rock bottling company also sponsored the Pepsi-funded Choice Bus; the fleet's third addition launched yesterday in Birmingham, Alabama and will tour several Southern states to reach thousands of school-aged youth.
