Taco Bell Canada Incites a "Burger Backlash"

June 24, 2011

The latest Taco Bell Canada ad campaign is starting a "Burger Backlash." The online campaign, which lives at BurgerBacklash.ca, aims to stop "Big Burger," a secret collective of executives who aim to preserve the boring burger-loving eating habits of mainstream Canada. The Burger Backlash fights the "conspiracy of complacency" with "acts of defiance" -- namely, eating the tacos and burritos from the Taco Bell Canada menu.

The "Burger Backlash" campaign for Taco Bell Canada also includes an interactive online portion. Participants can select a few friends from their Facebook network to appear in a customizable viral video; at the end of the video, a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a Burrito Supreme appears. OSL Marketing of Toronto is behind the campaign.
