Sonya Thomas, also known as "the Black Widow" of competitive eating, won the first Women's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest today at Coney Island. Thomas scarfed down 40 hot dogs -- just one shy of her record-setting 41 hot dogs in 2009 -- to beat the second-place finisher Juliet Lee by 10.5 and win the bright pink Pepto belt in the photo above.
The 105-pound Sonya Thomas earned a $10,000 prize in the Women's Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, which is equal to what the men's division winner Joey Chestnut took home in the contest.
