McDonald's UK has enlisted designer Wayne Hemingway to design all-new eco uniforms made with 100 percent recycled materials. Hemingway will solicit clothing donations at his company Worn Again before upcycling them into uniforms.
Hemingway plans to reveal the McDonald's UK eco uniforms in time for the 2012 Olympic Games in London -- an ambitious task, considering that the chain has 85,000 staff members working at its 1,200 locations. "Our staff share Worn Again's commitment to sustainability," said Jez Langorn, the vice president of people at McDonald's UK. "I hope that together we can create a uniform design model for the future which others can follow."
