Right in the heart of downtown Brooklyn, there is a year-round indoor farmers market that offers quality organic food from local farms. The Foodshed Market even provides veggies straight from their roof top garden.
The Foodshed is part of the Brooklyn Commons which offers sliding-scale community classes on a variety of topics: making herbal tinctures, urban bee-keeping, roof top gardening, quality food for low income families, urban foraging, nutrition and much more.
This Saturday, July 30th, the Commons is holding it's first Healing Arts Festival. There will be a whole day of panel talks covering energy and body work, nutrition, food, and plant medicine. Healing by donation will be available, whether you want to try acupuncture, Body Evolution, Vortex healing, Reiki, massage, or many other forms of healing work.
Here's a little blast of blatant self promotion; Nutrition Evolution (that's me), will be speaking about gluten free living and beyond on the food panel which begins at 11:30.
If you're in the New York area, stop by for an action-packed day of wellness and education.
