FDA and Durbin Trying to Banish Supplements

July 29, 2011

It seems that every day there is a new fight on the road to protecting our access to real food and natural healing.

For many years, the supplement industry has been under attack, but thanks to the DSHEA of 1994 we've always been protected.

Now, Senator Dick Durban's bill along with the FDAs new regulations, threaten to undo our rights to take dietary supplements. Durbin's bill focuses on supplements being used in foods and the FDA's will essentially ban the ingredients that are commonly found in supplements. You think this can't happen? It already has in Europe!

I worked in the vitamin industry for many years, and I do admit there are many low-quality products on the market. But, there are just as many toxic food and drinks, yet people still have a choice. It's up to each person to make an informed decision about what is best for their health. If supplements are taken away, then more people will rely on pharmaceuticals, and that's the real bottom line.
