Congress will vote on the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Opportunity Act of 2011, in September. This important legislation supports new farmers through funding and marketing programs.
This bill's time has come, as more people are growing their own food and deciding that they don't want to rely on Big Ag. to feed them.
The bill will allow economically disadvantaged, potential farmers to get started. Supporting small farms creates job and gives local economies a much-needed boost.
