Anchorage mom Jessica Beagley, often dubbed the "hot sauce mom," has been convicted of child abuse. The jury found that Beagley squirted hot sauce into her adopted son's mouth in a bid to get on Dr. Phil's television show "Mommy Confessions."
Beagley's defense was that she was desperate to go on the show to get Dr. Phil's help with some of her son's behavioral problems after traditional punishment methods failed. Prosecutors countered that the infamous hot sauce incident only occurred after Beagley received interest from the show's producers about possibly appearing on the show.
