A whiskey sour is a simple but delicious cocktail that can be made at any time of the year. I especially sipping on one during the summertime. This cocktail is made with only three ingredients: lemon juice, simple syrup, and whiskey. For a good whiskey sour, you need to use fresh lemon juice (none of that sweet and sour stuff). To make the simple syrup, boil equal parts water and sugar just until the sugar dissolves. Let the mixture cool down before adding it to your drink. Once you have this recipe down, try experimenting with other citrus juices for a twist on this classic cocktail.
Ingredients:
1 oz simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
2 oz fresh lemon juice
5 oz whiskey
ice cubes
maraschino cherries for garnish
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Shake for 30 seconds and then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with cherries.
