The movement to curb childhood obesity and bring healthy foods to school children is on fire!
The timing is perfect as we approach the 40th anniversary of Chez Panisse, the Berkeley restaurant founded by Alice Waters.
Chez is so much more than a place to eat amazingly fresh and seasonal meals, it also triggered an entire local food movement. Now comes, Eating for Education, which was possible due to Alice Waters paving the way with her Edible Schoolyard.
"Eating for Education is a grassroots effort to create national awareness about school garden and school lunch programs. The campaign will culminate in homes and restaurants around the country on August 27th with special dinners celebrating the building power of edible education".
