The finalists in the 2011 Big Tex Choice Awards have been announced; for those unfamiliar, this friendly competition pits the concessionaires of the State Fair of Texas against one another in a fried fair fare showdown. The eight finalists: Buffalo Chicken in a Flapjack, Deep Fried Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, Deep Fried Texas Salsa, El Bananarito, Fried Autumn Pie, Fried Bubblegum, Hans' Kraut Ball and the Walking Taco.
The winners of the 2011 Big Tex Choice Awards will be announced on Monday. Last year, Fried Beer took home the top prize in the Most Creative category, while the Texas Fried FRITOS Pie was awarded the Best Taste award.
