The cooking world was momentarily abuzz yesterday when a somewhat convincing press release suggested that southern chef Emeril Lagasse (who recently joined Top Chef) had a major feature-length film coming out. "A House Divided" supposedly dealt with "infidelity, abortion, religion, art and unemployment, all through the lens of wry humor and real heart" and co-starred Cheryl Hines and Timothy Hutton. Yeah, total hoax.
A spokesman for Emeril confirmed that fact, "I saw something about that this morning," Jeff Hinson said, "but, no, there's no truth to it. Totally false."
Still, it seems conceivable that Emeril might do something like this. Does anyone remember his self-titled show for NBC in 2000?
