The Santa Monica Farmer's Market is celebrating it's 30 year anniversary this week by hosting the Good Food Festival. It was established in 1981 and has grown to serve 900,000 customers a year.
The festival is a five day event beginning today, September 14, until Sunday, September 18. There will be chef and farmer cooking demonstrations, book signings, a street fair, film viewing, and more. For full event schedule and ticket information, click here.
There will be conferences being held to discuss local and national issues surrounding our food system with an emphasis on California family farmers. If you live in the Los Angeles area, this would be a great opportunity to get to know your local farmers and chefs.
