Salted Caramel can easily be named as "hot trend" in the foodie world. From Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha/Hot Chocolate/Frappuccino to Fran's Salted Caramels, salted caramel doughnuts, cake pops, cupcakes -- everywhere you turn is fresh, roasty-sweet-buttery caramel sprinkled with sea salt. The phenomenon behind the flavor combination is simple: the slight addition of salt makes the sweet caramel even sweeter and richer, highlighting the complex flavors of the dish without adding a specific flavor element of its own. Here are three of my favorite salted caramel covered recipes, using fresh fruit for a healthier snack!
