
Rice is one of those glorious "blank slate" ingredients that can be transformed into a number of spectacular dishes. Whether you're cooking your rice fresh or using up that unopened container from last night's Chinese take-out, you're just a skillet (or wok) and a few simple ingredients away from a quick and delicious meal.
Below are some of my favorite rice-based dishes that are perfect any day of the week.
Mushroom Risotto
Try this with your favorite mushroom or toss in a variety blend. The more the merrier!
Risi e Bisi
This "rice and peas" dish is an Italian classic. A close cousin to risotto, though slightly more wet.
Rice and Orzo Pilaf
Garnished with crumbled feta and fresh parsley. A delicious side dish with lamb or chicken.
Pork Fried Rice
A great way to use up leftover rice! Try it with shrimp, chicken, beef or tofu, too!
Easy Shrimp Etouffee
You'll love this easy New Orleans classic. One skillet cooking at it's best!
