The World Series is not just for baseball anymore. The 32 annual World Series of Barbecue is held in Kansas City and begins today, September 29th until October 2nd. 50 teams compete in four meat categories including chicken, pork, beef, and lamb. The contest began in 1980 when KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce creator Rich Davis took home first prize. Since that time it has expanded into a four day event with a trade show, a Texas Hold 'Em tournament, barbecue competition, and festival complete with fireworks. This is the largest barbecue competition in the world where barbecue master's and their loyal fans can enjoy some good eating.
