An 18-year-old teenage father on a date at a local McDonald's opted to leave his 5-month child alone in the car and now faces felony child endangerment charges.
Sacramento police officials say the father parked the car a considerable distance away from the restaurant. A Good Samaritan, who sat parked in a neighboring vehicle for 15 minutes, called 911. Officers responded and removed the little girl from the vehicle. They said she was "sweating profusely and seemed to be distressed."
The little girl is now in protective custody.
