Jamie Oliver opened a Jamie's Italian in Dubai back in January, fully equipped with a bar, hoping that their liquor license approval would follow soon after. But 10 months later, authorities aren't allowing the license to be approved, even though it has been pending for more than a year.
"The restaurant is ready to go with beer and wine but they are still totally in the dark about if they will ever be allowed to serve alcohol," a source said. "There are hundreds of restaurants, bars and pubs in Dubai that are allowed to serve beer, wine and spirits until 2am."
Oliver might just have to find a new use for that bar of his if the license doesn't get approved soon.
