As if you need another reason to avoid trans fats,The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has released the results of a recent study that links trans fat and fetal growth.
The study of nearly 1,400 pregnant women showed that women who ingested trans fats in the second trimester was associated with larger than normal birth weight babies. Larger babies may have increased risk of diabetes and heart disease later in life.
Because it is best to avoid trans fat in your diet no matter what stage of life you are in, this new study adds more reason to avoid it.
