With the Occupy Protests now entering their fourth week and the protestors showing no signs of leaving, vendors in the area are beginning to suffer. Food carts surrounding Zuccotti Park have reported that their sales have almost completely dried up since the protestors arrived.
"From the beginning of this, we lost all our business,” vendor Zizi Elnagouri lamented. “I couldn’t believe they were American. Do you see how they look? What they are wearing? I don’t believe. This must be the Third World!”
Why not move, you might ask? The food cart vendors can't. They are assigned locations for their carts during the permitting process and cannot change them for any reason.
Protestors have also been dirtying the bathrooms of nearby stores.
