Taylor Farms Retail Inc. has voluntarily issued a recall 3,265 cases of various salad mixes that may be contaminated with salmonella.
The recall was ordered after a Washington state Agriculture Department randomly tested a finished bag of spinach. Among those mixes recalled were those under the names of Fresh Selections, HEB, Marketside and Taylor Farms. The "best buy" dates on the packages ranged from October 18 through 21.
Potentially contaminated bags were distributed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Puerto Rico. No illnesses have been reported to date.
