Chief wine critic Eric Asimov will take over as interim dining critic of The New York Times while the paper looks for a full-time replacement.
During 2002, Asimov filled in for William Grimes during a leave. He launched $25 and Under restaurant reviews in 1992, writing them through 2004. His book on wine will be published next year.
In his first dining review, Asimov gives Salinas two stars.
