Saimir Strati Makes a Mosaic With 1 Million Coffee Beans

November 30, 2011

This million-coffee-bean mosaic by Saimir Strati is perhaps the most gigantic java-centric art installation in recent history. We'll know for sure on Dec. 12, when the artist plans on completing his 25-square-meter mosaic for the Guinness World Records team to certify as the world's largest.

The 140-kg installation is called "One World, One Family, One Coffee" and features five figures, each representing a different continent. If you prefer your super-sized food-inspired art a little sweeter, try Nicola Freeman's giant candy sculptures.
