A California-based herb company has announced a recall of 6,141 cartons of cilantro across seven states after the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) found salmonella in a sample.
Pacific Cilantro announced the positive test result on Friday and began the recall in California, Arizona, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana, South Carolina and Missouri. The recall applies to cilantro purchased after November 16 but before December 10. The herbs were grown by Salt River Farming outside of Phoenix.
The recall applies to bunches with "Pacific" on the twist tie and the UPC code 33383 80104.
