January 2, 2012

NPR named their 2012 food trends of the year in a piece for the radio. Surprisingly, many of their picks— handcrafted foods, artisanal production, local butcher shops— have already been in full swing for much longer than a year.
Apparently, the food of the moment is Nordic. There are also small batches of craft ice, coffee and spirits at bars. All of these things have been around for quite a while now. The New York Times wrote trend pieces about them last year.
Bad NPR. Where's the innovation?
