Legendary southern chef Paula Deen is expected to discuss rumors she has Type 2 diabetes on the Today Show next week. She will sit down exclusively with Al Roker on Tuesday. As previously reported on Foodista, Deen will likely confirm she has diabetes and may announce a sponsorship of a major Type 2 diabetes medication. Previous news reports suggested that drug would be Novartis, but the company denied those reports in a statement.
"The rumors that Novartis has signed a multi-million dollar spokesperson deal with Paula Deen for a diabetes treatment are not true," a Novartis rep told CBSNews.com. "Novartis is not working with Ms. Deen."
Deen's son, Bobby, recently launched a show called "Not My Mama's Meals," featuring healthier version of his mother's meals.
