A Rose Cake is Better Than a Dozen Roses for Valentine's Day

February 6, 2012

Instead of giving your significant other a bouquet of roses, try making them a rose bouquet cake instead. Food blogger Mary of Apron of Grace shows you how to bake a rose bouquet strawberry cake and decorate it too.  She includes her recipe for a strawberry cake using real strawberries (fresh or frozen) and shares links to cake decorating tutorials that helped her create this lovely dessert.  Making buttercream roses are not difficult but does require practice.  If you are going to take on this project, practice your cake decorating skills ahead of time.  This rose bouquet cake will win your valentine's heart.

Apparently the web site for Apron of Grace is no longer in existence as I keep getting errors. I would love the directions for this cake recipe as I believe it is the same for her cupcakes. I can probably figure it out but it would be good to have just in case.
