Bake these crazy colorful cupcakes from Sweet Tooth to celebrate Mardi Gras. This year Mardi Gras takes place on February 21st and no one does it better than New Orleans. The music, the food, and of course the beads- it's a non-stop party. If you can't get over to Louisiana this year to join in on the celebration, bake these cupcakes instead. Yellow cake batter is divided into three bowls and each one is dyed a Mardi Gras color (purple, green, and yellow). To send these cupcakes over the top (in true Mardi Gras fashion), frost them with homemade cinnamon buttercream.
Ingredients:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup buttermilk (instead of water indicated on box)
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
Food coloring
1 cup butter
4 cups powdered sugar
3 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanila
1 tsp cinnamon
