For dinner tonight, we are having a family favorite: Galumpkies. If you have never heard of these delectable little morsels, prepare to be impressed.
The short version is meat and rice stuffed cabbage leaves. The long version includes a slow cooked, sauce covered meal, that tastes savory, tender and filling.
This is an inexpensive recipe to make, but does take a little to prepare. Check out this version, offered by Foodista member: Gorey
Perfect for this time of year, when cabbage is a mere 30 cents a pound, I like to make two pans and freeze one for later. Make a vegetarian version with bulgar wheat and golden raisins as a filling. Delish!
