Good Housekeeping test kitchen did a taste test of yellow cake mixes of 11 nationally available brands. The first place winner was King Arthur's All-Natural Golden Vanilla Cake Mix. Tasters pronounced this cake to be "not-too-sweet, homemade flavor with a hint of maple, although some found the texture to be a tad dry." Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Butter Recipe Golden Premium Cake Mix and Betty Crocker SuperMoist Golden Vanilla Cake Mix were awarded honorable mentions.
