A wheel of Dutch cheese that's widely considered the best in the world just sold at auction for $8,400 -- that's $350 per pound. The wheel of cheese is a low-fat Gouda that was previously entered in the World Championship Cheese Contest by Friesland Campina of Steenderen, Netherlands. The Associated Press photo above depicts Robert Aschenbrock holding the cheese.
Though it's not the most expensive cheese to ever be sold, it's still one pricey slice of Gouda. Maybe artist Mike Geno will feature it in one of his upcoming portraits.
