Retired Teacher Charged With Butchering and Selling Pigs From Home

A retired teacher in California, Artxezin Mariscal Amezcua, has been charged with multiple counts of violating the Food and Ag Code in the state. 

Allegations range from butchering pigs and selling the meat from his home, to unsanitary and/or unsafe conditions of tools and meat butchering area. 

Mr Amezuca states that he was selling whole carcasses, not cutting meat. He also says that the practice is "indicative of cultural practices in the region. He believes that he is doing a service for the community."
